Ex Husband affect benefits? was created by welshgrl
My husband and I divorced 12mths ago ( He was my carer) He remained my carer and we are still on best of terms.
My care needs have changed and I need more care. If he moves in with me and we stay on carer only basis, will it affect my benefits? He will not be contributing to any bills, sharing my bed and will not be my partner.
Thanks
Kaz

In principle it should not effect your benefits, but I would get face to face advice first to ensure that you have in place any "requirements" to show that you are not a couple. Do an internet search for "welfare advice" with your postcode, town or county.
Decisions about you not being a couple will be based on your living arrangements and are at the discretion of a DWP Decision Maker.
