I am unfamiliar with benefits but would like some advice. I have been claiming contribution ESA since 2013 and am in the support group. My husband has just lost his job through capability as he has been diagnosed with a mental illness. We have claimed ESA for him which is £73.10 per week. We are waiting to hear about a claim for PIP for him as well as council tax support. We will have about £182 per week coming in plus he gets DLA care component at the moment of £22. Is there anything else we can claim as £200 isn't much to pay your mortgage, bills and food.
This is the first time either of us have been unemployed so my head is all over the place at the moment.
Benefits entitlement is a difficult and wide-ranging subject. which we could not hope to cover in depth on the forum. Have a look at the 'turn2us' website and that will give you an idea of what you might be able to claim.
