The transfer of claimants with indefinite DLA awards starts in October but may take several years to complete, claimants will be chosen at random so you may be invited to claim PIP this year or in 2017 or at any time between,

You will be asked to complete a new claim form, although there are many similarities between the PIP criteria and DLA there are in reality considerable differences, most, but not all claimants will be required to have a face to face assessment.

If you will not be at your usual place of residence at any time after October then you should consider notifying the DWP, which should prevent you receiving an invitation while you are away, alternatively, you will be given four weeks to make a claim for PIP so providing your holiday is well within this timescale you can leave it until you return,

See the PIP Claim guide for more information.
