Just wanted to ask if difficulty getting in and out of bath and getting on and off the toilet and can only manage using aids like grabrail handrail etc is worth 2 points each or 3 and 4 respectively.
Thanks

Also, if cannot cook at cooker but can use microwave if it means just putting it in the microwave and collecting it once cooked - due to pain standing up and drowsiness /tiredness; is this worth 2 pts / 4 pts or more
thanks

I would expect you to score 2 points for each based on your post, to score higher you need to show that you need assistance
What does ‘assistance’ mean for personal independence payment (PIP)?

If you can reliably cook a meal in the microwave then I would expect you to score 2 points, for a higher score you would need supervision or assistance for the majority of the time or to show that you cannot reliably either prepare or cook a meal.
In regard to your standing while cooking, the DWP will consider your ability to use a stool or suitable chair.

Just a follow up question on what you said.
If the DWP will consider my ability to use stool or chair does that mean 2 pts will be given regardless
of whether i use these aids (chair stool ) or will it mean 0 points if not using a suitable stool or chair.
thanks

If you are saying that you need to use a microwave rather than hob for cooking because of your problems standing, then the DWP will certainly consider the use of a stool as an aid which in principle means that you would score 2 points, however you would need to show that a stool was required for the majority of the time and that the usage is a necessity and not a conveniencegeneralm wrote: Many thanks for your reply Gordon,

If your problems are more complicated then it may be easier to score the 2 points.
