Will PIP take into account my life time award DLA was created by CaravanUser
Ive been on DLA for 21 years now. I was given a life time award but understand PIP no longer gives this out. Will they take into account my life time award and just move me over or will they scrap that award and start again?

Welcome to the forum.
I am afraid that PIP is a totally new benefit with, on the whole, different qualification criteria from DLA.
Claimants with an indefinite award who were under the age of 65 on 8 April 2013 , there are no life time awards now, will at some time after October of this year be invited to claim PIP, claimants will be chosen at random and the project will take several years to complete.
If you were 65 or over on the above date then you will continue to receive DLA as long as you continue to meet the criteria.
Those invited to claim PIP, will need to apply for the benefit from scratch, complete a claim form detailing their day to day limitations and may be required to attend a face to face assessment.
If you want to understand the criteria for PIP have a look at our PIP Claim guide on the following link.

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I guessed this would be the case. To be honest, my disability has change so much since I filled in the DLA, Im afraid Ive been shooting myself in the foot not contacting them before. I put it down to putting my head in the sand regarding my decline in health. Ive been looking at the info on the site and I'm looking forward to filling in the new PIP forms. Now I bet you don't hear that often on this site.

I'm not sure it's a first but you are definitely one of a very, very small group of people
