Hi,

Welcome to Benefits and Work :)

If your forum name is also your real name, you may wish to change it to maintain some anonymity.

This can be done quite easily by following the instructions on this FAQ :

My full name is showing, how can I stop it?

No, neither PIP nor DLA are counted as household income for the purposes of The Income Related (IR) ESA means test.

Hi R,

If your wife has recently received a PIP Daily Living Award, you may be entitled to :
IR ESA Premiums.

Thank you my wife has been called in by the job centre for a getting in to work interview even though she already works 16hrs per week. SHe is unable to work any more hours than this due to her illnesses but they have said she has to go because she works under 24 hrs and she in my claim for ESA. Seems ridiculous that even though she is already in work for as many hours she is able to work that she has to sit through an interview.

Hi R,

If you receive IR ESA as a couple, this will be why she has been asked to attend The JCP for an interview.

The interview is standard, and should only last a short time.

They cannot compel her to take part in any work related activity, nor seek more working hours.

As you may know, if she was to work 24 Hours/Week or more, you would lose your entitlement to IR ESA payments :

24 hour work rule for ESA(IR)
