ESA application

Hi all,
I posted off my ESA forms and sent them by special delivery and checked with the tracking number and they had arrived today. I am just confused as I addressed the envelope to ATOS but it is actually a royal mail handling site. Does that mean the postal workers there get access to all my private information?

Hi A,

Yes, ATOS and DWP Mail has gone via Royal Mail handling sites for many years.

The main DWP Site is Wolverhampton.

Apparently, the Royal Mail staff have to sign the Official Secrets Act, and are trained in Data Protection Laws.

Thanks Bro58. Does this mean the information I sent by special delivery now gets sent by ordinary mail to my local ATOS centre and could get lost on the way there? Really worried about that happening.

I was confused as the pre paid envelope to return my questionnaire stated Wolverhampton, ( which was of no use whatsoever as it was so small) yet my reminder letter was asking me to send it to an Atos medical centre. I rang up and they said to post it to Wolverhampton! Grrh! Wish I had sent it to Atos medical centre now. Would have been quicker and safer.

I wouldn't worry !!

You have fulfilled your responsibility by returning The ESA50, to the address provided, by the deadline date that you were given.

You have proof that it has been delivered and signed for.

You can not be expected to do any more, you have taken all reasonable steps !!

Many, many of our members have returned their ESA50 under the same circumstances, and all has been fine.

If you wanted, you could : Contact Maximus (CHDA) to ensure that the have it :

(All ESA50's are being re-directed to Maximus)

Hi Bro58 and thank you.
I don't understand why there are three addresses for ESA! What on earth is happening to the system?? Wolverhampton mailing site, Atos Cardiff and now Maximus in Leeds!
I just worry as I sent so much information with my ESA ( copies) but if they are not all received together, after being passed on to so many addresses they may not see all my information.
I will ring Maximus tomorrow.
