There is a section towards the back of our PIP Claim guide that covers assessments. See

Hi Margaret. My friend had a home assessment all I can say is record it I was with my friend when she had hers, she got turned down. I could not believe the lies that came back in the report from the assessor's report. It's a shame we can't video them.
Good Luck
Janet

I would urge some caution if you decide to record your assessment, the DWP are providing no resources to do this for PIP assessments so any costs will have to be born by the claimant.
You will need to provide a non digital, dual recording system, you will still need written permission from the DWP to perform the recording.
Or you can covertly record the assessment, whilst this is legal there are restrictions on your distributing the recording to a third party and if discovered the assessor may terminate the assessment and class you as failing to participate.

Hi I had home assessment I didn't talk at all my dad did avoid talking if you can as I kn some are very rude but the one I had was really nice she EVEN HAD A CUP OF TEA AND BISCUITS LOL she asked loads of questions and wrote everything down after two weeks I got awarded I did have a very bad bad tribunal I was really scared I sta crying as soon as she even came in I couldn't take it I don't like sharing what I go through only with my dad he told her everything remember tell them everything in detail they do be very polite to catch you out as long as your honest you got nothing to hide don't get sucked in they do try to catch you out with questions like one In a blue moon don't get sucked in weird thing is my one didn't even ask me my name date of birth she just saw my birth certificate and passport. I wish you luck its hard being ill then getting treated horribly when we work they take money quick when we're ill and want help they don't want to help so UNFAIR I even worked for one year when I was ill and continued after surgery eventually my body gave way . GOOD LUCK won't say don't stres everyone stresses it's called being HUMAN
