Things moving so fast and no medical - bad sign?

Hi,

I rung to make a claim for PIP on the 8/1/15
I sent off PIP claim form (the long part) on 20/1/15
PIP received PIP claim form I sent back on 22/1/15 and on the same day it was passed onto ATOS to look at.
I sent a bit more evidence just after this although not sure of dates and whether or not it was received as hadn't even chased up as thought from reading on here you only starting chasing after waiting a few months!
This Monday (9/2/15) my health visitor emailed saying she spoke to someone regarding my PIP claim.

I was told by DWP and ATOS that I'd be contacted if they needed to speak to professionals on my behalf to ask for consent, however they have just spoken to people without me knowing (which I am not too bothered about as they had given them details but bit confused as to why they say one thing and do another!).

I rung today to ask why I wasn't contacted or made aware that professionals were being contacted about my claim and was told there was nothing on the system about them having contacted anyone and both DWP and ATOS didn't seem to know why it had happened. DWP said it was ATOS responsibility to make me aware when they are requesting medical documents/statements off health professionals. I was also told that on the 9/2/15 the medical report was sent back to DWP to be looked at by a decision maker. The DWP said as soon as they get a hard copy of the report it will be looked at by a decision maker and I should have a decision in the next 2 weeks.

I am glad that I am not having to go in for an assessment as I was feeling anxious and nervous about it (to the point I would have probably not been able to attend and have to pull out my claim altogether) but I am thinking that they have nowhere near enough evidence and that they don't have a real picture about my conditions and how they affect me.

I didn't include masses of paper work with the form, just a few letters/one report and a 4 day diary of how my conditions affect me but I did follow all the brilliant advice and guides on this site. Still, I am starting to think based on that and the fact its all happened so quick it must be negative and that I will be turned down and probably be awarded no points :(

Could this be the case or am I just being really paranoid? Has anyone been in a similar situation and had a good outcome?

Feel its all out of my hands now and there is nothing I can do to show and prove any more how my conditions affect me, its all down to the decision maker :S

Hi Helen,

We have heard from a few members who have had a really fast PIP decision, it seems that some areas have managed to work through the backlog - or perhaps some cases are more clear-cut than others.

You cannot draw any conclusions - for good or bad - from the speed at which things are going. At least you will soon know, please let us know when you get your decision letter :)

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems
