wanting to do a bit of work was created by alfie
hi, recently i have been doing a bit better and i was wondering if i could try and get a part time job or something,
i am in the support group of esa and receive premiums as well and i was wondering if you could tell me what to do? i am scared that i will lose money and that my mental health will again decline but i really want to do something, i also receive dla middle rate care and low rate mobility,
is there anyway i can do this without it affecting my benefits?

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Alfie,
You are allowed to undertake 'permitted work' and still keep your ESA. However, the rules surrounding what is counted a permitted work are rather grey and it is important that you get DWP permission before you start. Doing this should not trigger a reassessment but you should be aware that undertaking any form of work could count against you when you are next assessed.

I have joined your 2 identical threads together. Whilst the forum is now open 24/7 for reading, searching and posting new comments, new posts still have to wait until they are cleared by a moderator before they are made public. Moderators are only guaranteed to be available between 2-4 and 8-10 Monday to Friday. Please do not post duplicate comments as it just slows down the moderators when they are on-line

Hi a,
Do you have a Support Worker, or a CPN, maybe they could help you with this ?
Failing that, : Mind might be able to advise you further.
Your local Jobcentre Plus may also have a Disability Adviser.
I would try and gain some advice and support on this before you commit to anything, as it can be complicated in some cases.
N.B. Click on the blue words in my post an Mrs Hurtyback's to see the information from that link.
Cheers
