Urgent.ESA SGroup letter to attend JC

I have an urgent query about a jobcentre plus letter I got last week. I have a serious and very longstanding mental health problem and I am in the CB based ESA support group since October2013 (to be reassessed in 2 years) after having incapacity benefit. High rate DLA care entitled me to the incapacity benefit as I have a substantial pension. The DWP know the amount of my pension as I gave them details, requested by them, shortly after I was awarded the ESA.
The letter is from a work coach asking me to attend an appointment on Monday. “in order for us to check that information about your Employment Support Allowance claim is correct, and that your circumstances haven’t changed, an appointment has been made…If you want more information or wish to re-arrange the appointment please get in touch”.
I was reading a forum news article from last July which quoted from Polly Townbee’s Guardian article entitled “ Mentally ill people need to be helped, not hounded” see link below

www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/news/2840-ment...e-helped-not-hounded

This states that there are targets for jobcentre workers to push claimants of 65 weeks of ESA off benefits and refer them to the fraud department. I am 65 weeks.
So far I have rung up and said that my CPN wants to come, but that an appointment suitable for her needs to be made. I am seeing my GP on Monday and she will help willingly. How dangerous is this “appointment”? Do I need to go? Could I respond in writing with support from these 2 professionals?I don’t want to go unless necessary as it could be a hornet’s nest but I don’t want to get anyone’s back up either.
Has anyone else had a similar letter at 65 weeks? How did they cope with it ? What happened?
Thanks, this has made me very

Hi D,

I will refer you to : This Topic.

As advised, you can challenge them to ascertain exactly "what" the interview is pertaining to, and whether it is Mandatory or Voluntary. You can then make a decision on whether to attend.
