I didn't realize you could send a letter in to appeal .also didn't realize I can text you lot for help . I had phone call today after waiting months ..I don't think I made myself clear .what should I do ?? Apparently they are going to send me a letter with decision in a few days ..I have been trapped in home since may 2013 as can only get out with husbands help as I can only walk so far .then need to go in wheelchair .have been awarded so far the lower rate for mobility ...we have hired a wheelchair from the red cross charity since my accident ..the medical assessment was useless and she didn't note down my other problems with bathing etc...sorry I'm going on a bit .but I feel like I'm not coping too well with the pip people .thanks for reading ....

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ

My full name is showing, how can I stop it?

I have moved your post to it's own topic to make it easier for you to find.

I assume from your post that your claim for PIP has resulted in less of an award than you were expecting, you seem to have been awarded Standard Mobility but no Daily Living award, is this correct?

You can appeal the Decision, the first stage to this is to request a Mandatory Reconsideration, we recommend that you do this in writing to the DWP office that dealt with your claim. Our PIP MR and Appeal guide has more details about the process, see the following link which also has template letters that you can use.

www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants/pip

You should also contact them about getting a copy of the assessment report, you can phone the same office for this, but we suggest that you follow it up in writing.

If you have any questions about the process or about your appeal then please reply to this post and we will do our best to help.
