Gordon,

I know what you mean now - you meant 3-4 days prior to the scheduled appointment on 27/01/2015? Is that right? In terms of 3-4 working days prior that would equate to around 21/01/2015? Just to verify, is this what you are advising? Thank you for the clarification. I read it differently before.

Also, in regards to the GP letter, outlining problems with the assessments, would you recommend having that sent ASAP? or holding off sending it for now? If so, how long for? - giving the current new evidence time to be looked over as above?

When sending to ATOS, would a copy sent to the AP in addition to the DWP decision maker be required this time?

Just clarifying.

I really appreciate your help. Thank you.

Just an update regarding my previous post:

My GP is more than happy to provide a letter but feels very confident that the consultant's report will be enough.

Should an appointment still be required however despite the new evidence - my GP is more than happy to produce a letter then. At which point would I send it to both ATOS & the DWP decision maker?

Yes I meant 3-4 days before the appointment, you can even cancel on the day but we advise not leaving it that late.

Given your obvious stress regarding the appointment I think you should push your GP for a letter now, there is no value in waiting and the extra time will likely add to your anxiety.

Send a copy to the DWP and ATOS, but it will be ATOS that make a Decision on whether an assessment is required.

From reading through other posts I need to clarify now if my additional evidence (both the consultant report last week and GP letter this week regarding issues surrounding the f2f appointments ) have been sent to the correct address.

These were sent to the ATOS address on the top of the appointment letter but NOT the place where the assessment was to take place.

Should my consultant report or GP letter or both have been sent to the general address on the top of the appointment letter or now should it have been to the ATOS address where I am currently booked to be assessed at??

I sent both at different times to the general ATOS address and not the address where the current assessment is located?

Have I done the right thing? Many thanks for clarifying this.

To clarify what I said:

My appointment letter wasn't sent from the appointment location or at least doesn't list the appointment location as the main address at the top of the letter. The assessment location is stated within the body of the letter. At the top of the letter it states: "Our Address:" and states the general address and it was this address I sent it to and NOT the address where the assessment is currently booked for.

It should not be a problem, the ATOS internal is no way as slow as the DWP one, also we are not clear where the staff who would make a decision about whether an assessment is needed are actually based, whether it is a central location (there is probably more than one), or they are based in the same offices as those actually doing the assessments.
