PIP decision maker content was created by noah
I had my PIP decision letter dated 24/11/14 and am still waiting for the decision maker to call and explain their reasoning. I've called DWP a few times and been told they are busy and will get round to calling me. Is this an unusually long time and can I do something to speed this up?

If you are considering challenging the Decision then you should not wait for the Decision Maker to contact you, as there is a good chance that this will not happen, however much you chase them!

Before making a decision to do this, you should make sure that your current award is reasonably secure, if you scored 8 points then you might want to be more cautious than if you scored 11. Also you need to consider high likely you are to receive a higher award, 1 or 2 points may be possible but 6 or 7 may be beyond your reach unless you can show that there are fundamental mistakes in the current Decision.

Hi N,

As advised by Gordon, I would not wait for a phone call that may never happen.

If you are to request a Mandatory Reconsideration, (MR) I would do so ASAP.
