Unfortunately, due to the huge backlogs with ESA WCA Assessments, many claimants have been in the Assessment Phase in excess of 12 months.

Over half a million trapped in assessment phase of ESA. Once a decision is made, if you are placed into The WRAG or The Support Group, (SG)payment of the extra WRA or SG Component will be backdated to the start of Week 14 of your claim.
That of course is not much help in the mean time, and if you are suffering financial difficulties due to the delay, you could contact your M.P. who may be able to expedite an assessment.
