ESA and tax was created by Peawack
Had a letter from HMRC telling me I owe tax relating to ESA payments . I assumed they would automatically take tax out at source. However, their website says that tax is not payable where a person is awarded IB prior to April 13 1995. As Invalidity benefit has morphed into ESA, does this mean my Esa payment is exempt also. This has been an unbroken award since before April 1995.
