PIP Clarity was created by Bryando
Hi,

Looking for some guidance re : Cannot follow the route of a familiar journey without another person, an assistance dog or an orientation aid

What exactly is this meaning? I am finding it a challenge to understand these mobility criteria for some reason!

Seem to think mental health applicants would not qualify for this as prompting would cover it. So say a person gets taken door to place of work and back due to mental health and said journey is familiar as it happens often enough. Would this description apply?

I can't locate any upper tier decisions however would be keen to know what website to keep an eye on for such developments.......

I would advise you to have a look at the latest version of the PIP Claim guide as the issue of prompting is covered in there and in regard to the Going Out Descriptor.

There is currently no UTT Decisions in regard to PIP and there are unlikely to be for at least six months, the Lower tier has only just started hearing appeals themselves.

UTT Decisions for all benefits are available (at least in principle) on the following site.
