Both Capita and ATOS have been contracted by the DWP to perform PIP assessments, do the DWP pay the assessors wages? Not directly, but both companies are paid by the DWP for each assessment that is carried out.

Assessments should be carried to an agreed standard, providing that they are then I do not think that there should be any suggestion of bias, the issue we have had with the ESA assessments is that many do not meet that agreed standard and more importantly, the DWP has failed to hold ATOS (ESA) to book for not doing so.
