Advise needed please

Hi one and all.

Advice please.

Friend recently placed in SG following a MR via help from outside help.
Long & protracted to say the least re this person in regards to the many problems etc re her difficult case .

I have suggested that my friend ought to apply for an SOR & Prognosis on when the next re assessment will take place.
Also suggested that when friend receives the aforementioned SOR/Prognosis friend should then look at addressing the DLA friend receives at both LRC/LRM (Indefinate awards)to see if it is suitable to be increased to assist friends health issues.
Friend not in a PIP area so it would still be under DLA.

Would these suggestions be good or should I say not to follow my words of wisdom/not wisdom.

I can see no harm in your friend asking for a SOR and/or prognosis. As you know, doing so will have no effect on the current ESA award or when it is reassessed.

However, I would advise more caution in relation to the DLA award. Your friend needs to be very sure that the current award is safe before asking for a reassessment/supersession as the Decision Maker will have the power to take this award away. If a deterioration of the condition cannot be clearly demonstrated then it might be best to leave alone.

As always, it will be up to your friend to make this decision. At least, thanks to you, she will be aware of her options.
