At the moment I’m in the support group of ESA, however I am thinking of trying to get some education as I have no formal education certificates I want to get English & Maths to start with I went to my local collage yesterday and had a discussion with a tutor there she did a brief assessment and said I would have to probably do distance learning i.e. from home because of my disabilities I would also have to give my national insurance number as well I’m asking by doing this could my benefits be affected.
Like I said I am in the support group of ESA I get full mobility allowance, full carers allowance and my wife is my carer By going into education am I putting any of this at risk.
Providing this is not what is labelled as a full time course then there should be no issue, even if it is then your receiving DLA Care should still entitle you to attend.
The only thing you have to be aware of is if your doing this course contradicts any of your stated limitations on the ESA50.
The following explains the situation in more detail
