Is there a way pip can be back dated if I get a higher award than dla I'm currently on low rate care for dla but due to an increase in my care needs I am awaiting pip decision (been told it is with decision maker and should be within 3 weeks so almost there) I'm in Wales so if that means I'm in a live area will the difference between dla and pip be paid or will I not get the difference I'm really confused as I was not asked to claim I phoned them as I'm in live area is it a new claim

I am afraid if you are currently receiving DLA then any PIP award will only apply from the date of the Decision not when you were invited to claim PIP, even if this is in effect an increases award.
