When does DLA/PIP end? was created by Steve Blue
My dad currently receives DLA and is due to retire in a year or so. I know that his ESA will cease on his retirement, but what about DLA? Does this (in theory) continue indefinitely if the condition still warrants it?

Your father's DLA will remain in payment as long as he continues to qualify for the benefit, even once he turns 65, however, as he would have been under the age of 65 on 8 April 2013, he will at some stage be invited to claim PIP even if he is over 65 at that time, this will either be when his DLA comes up for renewal if he has a fixed term award or at some time after October 2015 if he has an indefinite award.
