DLA renewal - panicking and fearing the worst was created by MrsB
I have just sent of my DLA renewal forms. My award is up in December. I filled them in following the guides on here and have sent copies of every medical letter from the past 2 years. I also enclosed the full ATOS report from 18 months ago.
So why do I fear the worst. It is so worrying that they could make a decision that leads to me being housebound if I lose my car.
My big worry is that my conditions are degenerative and therefore I haven't seen rheumatology, paiin clinic, psychs etc since mid 2013 as nothing can be done other than managing the symptoms with meds. Could this be a problem? I couldn't get a new GP letter of support as the practice policy is now if the DWP want a letter they ask for it, not the patient.
Also I heard renewals are going pretty quickly of late - is this the case?
Thank you

Hi,
Welcome to Benefits and Work Forum !!
If your forum name is also your real name, you may wish to change it to maintain some anonymity.
This can be done quite easily by following the instructions on this FAQ :
My full name is showing, how can I stop it?
Unfortunately, many people are in a similar situation, and hopefully The DWP will be aware of this.
The important issue is that you went into detail regarding any care needs that you have and any walking limitations that you suffer as a result of your conditions, as they are currently.
Yes, feedback from members would point to the fact that DLA Renewals are being dealt with quite quickly.
Try not to worry, hopefully you will receive a positive decision sooner rather than later.
Please do keep us updated.

Thank you for your reply.
I was just changing my name as you typed your answer so all should be good now.
I did follow your very helpful guides closely and put far more detail on the forms than the welfare rights lady had done last time. I also included 2 statements from people who know and help me.
The ATOS report was very much in my favour but not sure if the fact it will be classed as valid as it was February 2013 when it was done.
I guess all I can do is wait and see and try not to panic.
