Hi- I just had my medical for PIP for abdominal adhesions, anxiety and depression. She was an assessor from ATOS. I think it went OK, I tried to be as clear as possible. Having had one of these in the past for IG, she was better. For example she seemed quite understanding of the conditiona dn how pain can affect you, also she probed into my answers asking firstly if i felt i could do something then how it would affect me to do it, or what support i need. She said the more detail, the better a report she would be able to write. She commented at the end that she coudln't say which award I would get, as she didn't make that decision, however she would recommend it would have a long review date due to the condition being permanent. I used the B & W PIP guide in my claim and saw that she had written in detail on her form the answers I'd provided and she read them out to me as we went along. So overall it went OK, I think. The things I found helpful were- providing copies of medical letters etc, having someone there to support you, and completing the form in detail and with honesty.
