Home visit now due. was created by Ray
A while back I wrote a topic about my second Atos medical whereby I requested a home visit which I needed a Doctors letter for. I got the Doctors letter (£50) sent off and my assessment centre appointment was canceled. I now have a home visit appointment for Sept 10th. Its unlikely anyone will be able to be here with me ( my son was but onholiday from the 7th) I'm wondering if I can record the assessment myself with a digi cam?
I've heard enough about the lies and false info Atos put on their assessment forms to last a lifetime so I want some evidence of this meeting.

Any thoughts anyone or notes to compare?

Hi R,

Yes, you can covertly record the Home Assessment.

However, you will have to ensure that The ATOS HCP/Assessor does not know that you are doing so, or they may refuse to continue with the assessment.

I recalled a post on MSE where an ATOS Rep used to answer queries, and remembered that they stated that ATOS also offered recording facilities for Home Assessments.

I found it in my archives :

"To confirm again, yes, the recording process is the same for home assessments as assessments in a centre."

From this page of the thread :

It may be worth putting this to ATOS, and citing their Rep's comments on MSE :

If they don't agree, you can still covertly record it yourself.

Even if they do agree, I would still have your covert recording facilities working, as they may arrive and state that they weren't aware that they were supposed to record the assessment.

Just to confirm Bro's post, if you are found to be covertly recording the assessment then it will be terminated and you will be classed as a failure to participate, so if you decide to this you need to make sure that there is no reason for the assessor to consider this possibility.

Ok
I decided not to record my home assessment , listening to what was said to my post I thought on it and declined . So assessment done once again on the 10th of this month now I just sit and wait. There were a couple of things I forgot to add to my file but generally I think now its more detailed than previously with medical evindence, Doctors letter and ofcourse the Atos Doctor that visited. I'm pretty sceptical but I do have to say the Atos Doctor didn't seem to bad this time. He was a German chap to.
Ofcourse I guess they are not going to build hopes or deflate , just impartial and with any luck tell the truth. Hmmm.

We will see, i'll continue to take advice from here though I have learnt a lot just by reading.

Thankyou Ray
