savings over £16.000 was created by pusscatsmum
Hi,
I know this has been covered b4 elsewhere, however I really need up to date clarification.
I am on ESA Cont base and in the SG.
I am frantically saving up to have more works done on the house to make life easier for my self, however I shall soon exceed £16000 in savings, will this affect my benefits ?
(Claim Cont based ESA SG, DLA HR Care/Mobility Ind Inj @ 50%)
No other benefits available as my husband works full time & earns way in excess of £85 pr week.
It would seem daft if it does affect my benefits as I have to pay for any thing I require as husband works and thus need to save up in order to procur what is required.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems
Replied by slugsta on topic savings over £16.000
PCM,
You are on DLA and contributory ESA, neither of these are means-tested so your savings will not make any difference.

phew murky buckets.
I thought that was the case, however DWP site very confusing.
Also I thought the scenario would help others too.
