pip fiasco! was created by ian
hi to everyone, iwas wondering if anybody can help me .
it has just been over 1 year since i made my claim for pip, told in dec 2013 i was to go for a medical, this was confirmed by the spanish authorities feb 2014,had medical march 2014.......well since then the pip office have not recieved the medical back from spain today i got a phone call from local medical authorities to go for another medical next week!!!!
this is where i need some help...can anyone tell me a phone number to call for pip which is not the usual front desk person who gives me the usual load of nothing,am fed up of the situation ,i want to talk to a case manager or someone with more information.
right at the begining i sent a copy of my last medical taken march 2013 this was ignored as it was 3-4 months too old to take into consideration!well it is now 4 months on and this medical is out of date aswell in fact if it takes 3 months for any of my medicals to get back to uk then they will all be out of date to be used.
so a new phone number or email to get proper information.
thaks

You can try the Exportability team
www.gov.uk/exportability-team
or the PIP unit
www.gov.uk/disability-benefits-helpline
You can ask for a manager to phone you back if the person on the phone is unable to help you. Call backs usually take 3 hours.

hi gordon, took note of your message earlier this afternoon,am afraid both websites you gave give out the same number i have used all the time off the pip office paper.also you can i ask for case manager (not neccessary the one who has dealt with you before!) to phone you but it is within 5 working days!!! not 3 hours.
would you happen to know if there is a time limit on getting an application done?
reason being i reckon if things carry on the way it is just now for my application then it might get confirmed by xmas 2014! having today been asked to go for another medical (not asked by pip)the time it will get sent back to uk and translated will be 3 months just like my other 2 by that time it will be out of date just like my very first medical i sent in as evidence at the start of my application which they told me was out of date (3 months!)
is there any mps i can write to etc? would it be worth while?
regards

I am afraid we have no other numbers for the PIP section of the DWP, you need to request a call back, in the UK these have to be done within 3 hours, I'm not sure why this would be any different for a claimant in Spain or are they expecting you to sit next to the phone for the next five days!
From your previous post, you said that the medical report that was ignored was from March 2013, this report would not have been done in regard to your PIP claim so I can understand why the DWP would not have accepted it as such and required their own assessment be done.
Again, from what you have posted the original PIP assessment report has gone missing or was not considered as fit for purpose and so a new report has been commissioned, so it is not because the report has expired.
We are seeing considerable delays in all parts of the PIP process once the PIP2 form has been returned, I would expect some of these to impact on claimants outside of the UK, there is no way to circumvent these problems, even complaining to an MP will not be of assistance.

hi gordon, here is a quick up date on the fiasco....
after phoning the pip office in uk requesting an urgent phone back due to information i wanted to get confirmed and the fact the person at the other end would not know anyway!
i have been trying to get confirmation from pip if the correct paper work for my medical should be the e121 form or the same pip papers which are used in the uk.
so far after 5 days no one has phoned as they said they would (now the 2nd time this has happened)tomorrow morning i have another medical which has been requested by a phone call only from the spanish authorities,i would of thought a letter or phone call from the pip office in uk was supposed to be sent ..?
with no confirmation from the uk i forsee this medical going the same way as my previous in march 2014,groundhog day scenario.the pip has no plan of action or back up plan in dealing with medicals abroad (well spain )they wait for things to come .rather go and find out why it has taken so long or where is the medical!i was informed end of may come june that as my last medical was done in march they wait 90 days/3months before doing anything about it!
hands down tomorrow will be the same

I am afraid that we have little, if any, visibility of the PIP process for claimants living abroad so it is very difficult to offer advice, what I would say (although I doubt this will be of comfort), is that it is not progressing significantly slower than those in the UK and we quite often hear of assessments having to be re-done due to problems with the original one.
