Hello all. I need advice, not about benefits directly, but the nitty gritty ethics of it all. I am a newly redundant nurse, and I'm rubbish at walking and balancing and lots of other things. I'm mostly a wheelie. I'm familiar with DLA assessments on my own behalf. I can't move to a job back on the wards or GP practice or anywhere "hands on". I'm looking for office based positions, where I won't have to lift people or do resuscitation etc. it's not been mentioned yet, but I'm sure the JobCentre staff are going to mention Capita, PIP, ESA and similar to me very soon. It would suit me well in terms of accessibility (in most areas I think) and would prevent me being sanctioned.
The question is "should I?" I always swore I'd never do this, but I understand there's a huge backlog that I might be able to help with, and I can't afford to not work.
Please give me your opinions, pro and con. I'm torn.
