There is a template letter in the ESA Claim guide and an MS-Word document in the ESA section to request a recorded assessment, it is always best to make these requests in writing.

My wife went for her medical today. Not being well and stressed she was glad the day was hear.
There was a lot of people waiting to be seen. When it was my wife's turn she was told they had a lot of work to do and two doctors have rang in sick so the appointment could not go a head and a new appointment would have to be made. New appointment was given for 4 June and if she wanted to change the date to ring them up. Before leaving as no Expenses had been offered I requested them , they said double expenses will be paid on the new appointment.
I had requested a lady doctor for my wife and a recording to be made but said if no recording was possible my wife would still go ahead with the appointment. ATOS rang last Friday to say recording could not be done as it was broken.
My wife has to go into hospital for a day next week and my need a hysterectomy some time soon so I may write to the DWP after she has seen her consultant explaining this and the added stress they are putting her through.
Sorry it is long winded
Will keep you up dated.

Sorry to hear this, I am afraid it symptomatic of the state of the ESA system at the moment.

As there are a few week to the re-arranged assessment, I would write to ATOS and the DWP with regard to this new problem, although it does not directly address any of the ESA Descriptors it is something else you can add to the "pile" of evidence, unfortunately.

As it is a new appointment, both the recording and the female HCP are back on the table potentially, so it again may be worth contacting ATOS to request these be put in place. Also, be very careful to ensure that they understand that the re-booking was an ATOS issue and not your fault.

Best of luck

Well my wife went for her rearranged medical today as ATOS canceled her last appointment when we got to the centre. Again they said they were 1 hour late as two doctors were sick. They started again cancelling appointments . Well the place was in up roar never seen of heard this sene before.
My wife had now been dragged twice to the centre and unwell and a waiting hospital admission for urgent tests and possibly a operation . So we made it quite plain we were not leaving until she was seen. One hour and a half later she was seen by a doctor who was very good and made the comment she did not know why my wife had been referred.
I intend to write to the DWP to complain and to my local MP.
So my wife now has the added worry of waiting for the letter or dreaded letter . Have had doctors at ATOS who have seemed good before but results have been not good and had to go to appeal.
One good point my wife gets her state pension next year and can forget about medicals and forms.
Will keep you updated to what happens.

You would be best directing your complaint to ATOS rather than the DWP, even before the "break up" they distanced themselves from the assessment process.
