Thank you for your time and information.
As my official reassessment date is 19th April 2014, clearly I must have been referred before the elusive 20th January 2014 cut off date.
Unknowingly I thought the deferment scan was to run from 20th January 2014 onwards and didn't consider that I may have been deferred 3 months ahead of time.

Hi sb,

You could still query this with ATOS by contacting their "WCA Customer Service" :

www.atoshealthcare.com/claimants

You could ask when you were re-referred to them.

You could also ring the number on any of your ESA letters : (I believe that this number is also now being used ) :

0345 608 8545 Press Option 3 for ESA.

and ask for a callback from the DWP WCA Team at the local office that administers your ESA.

In the mean time, I would start filling in the ESA50 with a view to returning it by the deadline, unless you receive something in writing to the contrary.

If you haven't done so before, you might want to consider :

Using The PDF Version Of The ESA50 Questionnaire

Whilst referring to the guides on this page :

Dear All,
I think it's fair to say that the elusive cut off date for the deferment scan of 20th January 2014 to run from that day onwards may be misleading as it seems the deferrals are way ahead of time - in my case 3 months - and could possibly be longer for other members. This clearly makes the "back-log' debate unwarranted and the elusive 20th January deferment scan date a mystery...

Bro, if you were also expecting to be reassessed around this current time frame, if you were to ring ATOS, would they know whether there was a current referral, even if that referral had been sent 3 months ago or longer?

The ATOS computer system will have all the referrals they have received from the DWP and in the process of dealing with, whether it is 3 months or 3 days old should not matter.

Dear All,
I just called ATOS call centre to be told the DWP made the referral two days ago!
When I mentioned the 2 year deferral scan for repeat reassessments from the 20th January the Atos call centre telephonist said the repeat referrals were never stopped. Repeat reassessments are still continuing and always have been. The elusive 20th January date does NOT exist.
I thank Bro58 for their time and info.
