mandatory reconsideration

mandatory reconsideration was created by GILLIAN
Hi can any one help I applied for a mandatory reconsideration back in November 2013 and I am still waiting to hear when I phone them I am told that they have a back log and they don't know how long it will take can anyone tell me what the longest time they have waited many thanks jill

I am afraid there is no required timescale associated with a Mandatory Reconsideration, the Minister (Esther McVey) hoped that they would be completed in two weeks, but this never seemed likely based on how the DWP were operating when MRs became law in October 2013, your 5 months is the longest that I am aware of, I doubt there is anybody who has been waiting much longer as you must have been one of the first required to do an MR!
The only practical thing you can do is to involve your MP, they may be able to persuade the DWP to prioritise your MR.

Thank you for getting back to me as I was told by them that there is people that have been waiting longer then me and getting no money at all I do receive DLA but they stopped my ESA on December the 1st as they said I could only receive ESA for 365 days many thanks for your help not sure if I should contact the MP don't know how to go about it JILL

Simply enter your postcode in the box, and you will then be able to contact your M.P. by e-mail.

If you are well enough to see your MP in person it might be quicker. They hold regular surgeries.
