My wife had her AA refused and asked for a mandatory reconsideration and had it overturned getting full allowance to boot mind you she deserves it,but it goes to show, never give up at the first hurdle.
The claim went in 20/12/13 and received confirmation today.
Good luck everyone.

There is really no such thing as being classified as disabled anymore, but that does not mean that there are not a wide range of services and assistance for the disabled, have a look at the following which is a list of services from the GovUK site.

Hi Gordon
When My wife received her award for AA it did not say for how long.
Are there set times or are they awarded for life?
Can not seem to find this answer any where on faq.
Many thanks

Awards for AA are made for a set period which varies for different claimants. Details of when the renewal will be due should be on the decision notice. If it is not you should phone and ask and preferably get the answer in writing.
