Coping with social situations ?

Can you meet people you know without feeling too anxious or scared?
Can you meet people you don't know without feeling too anxious or scared?

bit confused

for some people I know - I always get very anxious eg GP
for some people I know, if I meet in a strange place - I get very anxious (eg meet my sister at a hotel over Christmas)
and for some people eg close friend, if I meet at home, then I'm OK

(when I get very anxious - I have to up my medication before event and afterwards for a period - so I am arguing that I can't do it repeatedly)

and what does "meet" really mean ? - pass in the street Hello? buy food from a shop
or does it mean have a successful meaningful 2-way conversation with someone which would be necessary for work
and meet "where ?"

Do I just tick it varies for both questions and then try to write down all the scenarios that are OK or not OK and then let them sort out what they mean?
