Members may or may not be aware that every web site you access uses cookies which can track what sites you visit, shopping habits etc.

Cookies contain information that websites have gathered about you and stored on your computer as small text files. Most of these files are completely harmless, but others store where you went, what you did, and any personal information you gave. Web sites may also allow other websites (their advertisers, for example) to put cookies known as third-party cookies on your computer. To ensure that companies are not keeping tabs on what you do online, use one of the following methods to clear your browser’s cookies.

Also, during holiday periods such as Christmas, lots of web sites may increase the cookies they use to store your movements.

Some cookies are necessary to store things like online banking and the like.

You can if you wish remove these cookies that track and store information about you.

Windows users see How to Clear Your Browser's Cookies which also gives advice to Mac users.

Mac users can use Cookie Stumbler and have a 14 free trial from www.writeitstudios.com

Being a Mac user I've used Cookie Stumbler since version one and it works fine.

However, I cannot recommend any Windows programmes to remove cookies but perhaps another member or moderator can.

You can also install DoNotTrackMe which is available free of charge for Windows or Mac at dnt.abine.com/#register

Hope this of help.
