No show ESA50!

Hi everyone,

Am trying to help a friend who has had mental health problems and
post traumatic stress for the last 10 yrs.
She was migrated from IB to ESA last yr, couldn't cope as she can't talk about her probs
she failed her medical and appeal cos she couldn't amswer their questions or fill in the forms
properly.

After 8 weeks with no money I persuaded her to go to her GP who refered her to
local mental health team for assessment. They did this within days.

To cut a long story short she is has been receiving the assessment rate of ESA for 8 weeks
but no ESA50 has arrived, after ringing the JC they have told her to wait as ATOS is being
audited at the mo as is behind!

She hasn't received the letter that asks why have you not sent ur form back so am assuming
they haven't sent it.

Any advise would be welcome as her mental state has deteriorated substantially.

As your friend was told, the whole system is behind schedule at the moment. It is taking a long time, in some cases, for ESA50 forms to be sent out - and even longer for the claimant to hear anything afterwards!
